Senior Registered Nurses celebrate 75th anniversary of association.

The Kootenaian, May 02, 1896 (p1)

KASLO, B.C. April 23, 1896.
To the Mayor and Corporation, City of Kaslo.
Gentlemen: On behalf of Mr. Hewitt Bostock I beg to inform you that
he has instructed me to purchase for him five of the city's debentures,
under the conditions of the scheme for water-works, lately submitted by
your honorable body through your committee to our citizens, and to which
many citizens are subscribers.
Mr. Bostock has placed the funds to conclude his purchase in my
hands, and I await notice from your honorable body that your arrangements
are complete and that the money is payable.
As I understand your honorable body are considering a larger and more
perfect scheme, having the same object in end, and concerning which I have
also addressed you on Mr. Bostock's behalf, I would respectfully suggest
that the present matter be allowed to remain temporarily in abeyance. I
am, gentlemen,
Yours obediently,
JOHN L. RETALLACK.
Mayor Green and the council, after due consideration, accepted the
proposition, and Mr. Bostock has already begun the fulfillment of his part
of the agreement. As there is no possible chance of that gentleman's
failure in the matter, the thing is as good as settled. The end of six
weeks, the time asked by Mr. B., will probably witness the beginning of
operations.
And thus begins a new era of prosperity for Kaslo.
