GYRO GOVERNOR VISITS CRANBROOK - Nels Buchanan, Head of District No. 8,
Here on Convention Business.
Cranbrook and Kimberley Gyros had the pleasure of a visit Saturday
evening of Nels Buchanan, of Edmonton, head of district No. 8, which
includes the Kootenay territory. The governor's visit was in connection
with the forthcoming district meeting at Calgary and the International
convention at Winnipeg, which opens on Tuesday next and continues for four
days.
A number of Kimberley, Nelson and Cranbrook Gyros will attend the
district conference at Calgary. Those who will attend the Calgary
conference are President and Mrs. Fergie, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Barber, Mr. and
Mrs. Ira McNaughtan, Mr. and Mrs. James Hartley and Secretary J.S. Black.
Dr. and Mrs. Fergie leave today going via the Banff-Windermere highway.
The balance of the members leave Friday evening by the Crows Nest train,
and will be joined by the Nelson delegates, Ned Hanley and Jack Morris;
Kimberley will be represented by Norman Burdette and three others. Ned
Hanley will represent Nelson at the International convention; Art Lilly,
who was married at Halifax last Wednesday and who is on his way west with
his bride, will represent Kimberley, and Dr. W.A. Fergie will represent
Cranbrook.
