Cranbrook Ed Caught

LAST ELEPHANT IS BROUGHT IN - Runaway "Charlie Ed." Will Now Be Known As
"Cranbrook Ed." - Found At Smith Lake
After a hunt lasting since the 6th of August, when a number of
elephants broke away from the Sells-Floto Circus, which was showing in
Cranbrook at that time, Charlie Ed., the last of the three animals which
made good their escape at that time, was caught on Tuesday morning
[September 14]. The capture was made at Smith lake, about four miles from
Cranbrook, by Spot Griffin and Charles Morgan, under the supervision of
Orville F. Stewart, assistant manager and expert elephant man, who arrived
recently from Oakland, California, where the Sells-Floto Circus is at the
present time.
