Elephant meat is good for bait

ELEPHANT MEAT IS GOOD FOR BAIT - Otto Gray bags Big Grizzly Near Carcass of
Myrtle on Moyie Mountain.
The truth of the old saying "It's an ill wind that blows nobody good"
was proved late last week, when Otto Gray, superintendent of plant,
Kootenay Telephone Lines, killed a large grizzly bear near the carcass of
Myrtle the Sells-Floto elephant, lying half way up Moyie Mountain near the
head waters of St. Joseph Creek. The trophy which Mr. Gray brought in from
the wilds is in splendid peltage, and the huge claws and tusks of the
animal are perfect. Mr. Gray is to be congratulated on his possessing one
of the finest bear robes in the district. It is reported that other
hunters, encouraged by the telephone man's success, are keeping a close
watch on Myrtle's carcass in the hope of duplicating Mr. Gray's good luck.
