SHOULD REVIVE CITY BAND - Walter H. Ford Speaks Before Cranbrook Rotary
Club on Subject
Walter H. Ford, who recently came to Cranbrook from Russell,
Manitoba, was the speaker before the Cranbrook Rotary Club on Tuesday.
Before coming to Cranbrook Mr. Ford had charge of the city band at Russell,
an organization that was fairly well thought of in Manitoba. Mr. Ford
intimated that he would be prepared to re-organize the band should the
project be undertaken as a strictly town band, and would give a weekly
concert during the summer months in the children's playground. Experience
has proven in the past that while a number of older heads are necessary for
the upkeep of a good band, boys from the age of 12 upwards, make good
musicians, and can be trained in less time than an older person.
*Better Business Methods*
Paul Klinestiver, a member of the better business methods committee,
was the speaker, taking for his subject the relation of employer to
employee. He stressed the importance of team work and co-operation for the
successful handling of any business.
