Archives Room at CBIRH

The Columbia Basin Institute of Regional History (CBIRH) Archives Room plays a key role in the Legacy of Learning Project, which works together with School District No. 5 (SD#5). Inside, you’ll find a wide range of artifacts from schools in the area, such as items from Fernie High School, Amy Woodland Elementary, and the well-known Cranbrook Girls Bugle Band.
These precious artifacts will be part of our Living Legacy Exhibit to promote school history from across the region. Below is a peek from Historian Derryll White about the wealth of our collection and the importance of preserving, documenting, and exhibiting these items.
