Lewis Arthur Willicome

Lewis Arthur Willicome walking the strets of Calgary, Alberta. Lewis was the son of Lewis Floyd WIllicome and Fanny Lyle, born October 17th, 1899 in Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales. Lewis came to Fort Steele in 1912 and married Winnifred Irene Phillips in Cranbrook, B.C., on September 10th, 1924. Lewis passed away at Kimberley, B.C., on September 14th, 1974.

Canadian Government Mountain Observation Car

The Canadian Government Mountain Observation Car was built in 1912 as the Sleeping Car 'Stadacona'. In 1920 it was acquired by Canadian National Railways and converted into the Sleeper, 'Mount Resplendent'. In 1929 it was converted into an observation car, and in 1969 was completely refurbished and eventually donated to Calgary's Heritage Park in 1971 by the C.N.R. Private Railway Car 76

Private Car 76 carried the officials and dignitaries of the Canadian Pacific Railway to Craigellachie, B.C. to drive the Last Spike. Originally built for Messrs. Langdon and Shephard, who constructed the main line of the C.P.R. into Calgary from Winnipeg, it was purchased by C.P.R. in 1885 and went through many name changes. Private Railway Coach 'Eatonia II'

Eatonia II, a wooden Private Coach built in 1916 for Timothy Eaton, founder of the T. Eaton Company, replaced the Eatonia I built in 1905. It was sold to the Canadian National Railway in 1930 and used as a Business Car and later as a Canadian Government car for ruling officials & visiting dignitaries. T.
