DORR WELL “SPUDDED IN” –

An event of interest to East Kootenay was the “spudding in” of the first derrick of the Pacific Petrol Products Ltd. in the Flathead valley at Dorr which occurred on Wednesday afternoon last.  This derrick is one of the largest structures erected in western oil properties, being 95 feet where the average derrick is 84 feet.

A.    Anderson, managing director, and H.A. Baker, secretary-treasurer,

both of Victoria, accompanied by interested shareholders and citizens and representatives of the press motored from Cranbrook this morning to be present at the ceremony which drew a crowd of interested spectators from the surrounding district.

The company owns 2250 acres in this district on which leading geologists have given excellent reports.  The production of oil in any quantities in that district would be a decided boon to East Kootenay.
