“The Coontown 400” was a pleasant relief from the exasperation produced by witnessing the Australian Novelty Company. Although in many respects not equal to the Nashville Students, “The Coontown 400” give more of the real Southern minstrelsy. The dancing was way above the average, the sing was good [sic.], and the selections on the banjo were really artistic. “The Coontown 400” can always feel assured of a hearty welcome in Nelson.
