SCHOOL TRUSTEES MEETING

            The regular monthly meeting of the School Trustees was held on Tuesday evening, December 11^th.  In attendance Chairman White and Trustees Henderson, Manning and Atchison.

            Principal Shields reported that the vegetables at the Central School were sold as follows:

            Potatoes to Mr. S. Fyles, $1; root crop to Mr. J. Woodman, $3.

            It was decided to leave the amount realized in the hands of the teachers for garden purposes next year.

            Applications to fill the vacancy of teachers at the Kootenay Orchard School were read and the position offered to Miss Ellen B. Paterson, at a salary of $70.00 per month.

            The following accounts were ordered paid:

            Teachers Salaries, $1217.50; Janitors, $135; Secretary, $25; M.H. Officer, 41,65; Beattie-Murphy Co. Ltd., 29.75; Electric Light Co., 3.70; Cranbrook Drug & Book Co., 33.60; Frank Dezall, 2.50; J. Gilpin, 13.50; Kootenay Telephone Lines, 3.60; McCreery Bros., 1.30; J.D. McBride, 1.95; F. Parks & Co., 24.90; Sullivan’s Quick Print, 3.00; City Transfer, 23.82.

            The Building Committee were authorized to put up three swings at the South Ward School.
