Kiwa Creek Dam
Dam constructed 1919 to create a lake 1/2 mi. long. Logging by horse during winter brought logs to the ice on the lake. Dam was opened in spring, water took logs down the Kiwa to the shear boom two miles down the Fraser which directed the logs at an angle into shore. A jackladder took them to the mill. Gate of dam was shut so as to build up water for next release. Log jams were broken up by hand or dynamite. Lumber from the mill was taken to the siding at Shere.
