Yahk Logging Flume
A logging flume in Yahk, BC. Bill Smyth fell in this flume one time in 1920 and was lucky to get out alive. Notice the log decks, water control gate and workers with pike poles feeding the logs through the gate.

Skidding Logs to a Log Deck
John McHeedy-Shate and the men who worked for him skidding logs into the log deck with a 2-horse team. This is a good photo of the type of ground chute used in winter to save the horses a lot of work. 1926, Yahk, BC.
