1969 Plane Crash at CPR Building in Cranbrook

Aftermath of the crash of a North American Harvard CF-WLW into a house very near the CPR roundhouse on Cobham Rd. The aircraft was doing an aerobatics display and lost power during a maneuver, the pilot attempted to recover and reach the airport but he did not have enough airspeed or height; his wing clipped a telephone pole and he cartwheeled into the house. He was killed in the crash.

Twin Engine Float Plane

Float plane - twin engine Dropping in to refuel at Moose Lake, Red Pass, BC. This is a very interesting picture, twin engine, twin tail, biplane with a flying boat hull. It has a RCAF ensignia on starboard lower wing. The steam/smoke in background appears to becoming from a steam locomotive. Looking at the narrow channel, sandy beach and proximity to train track the location seems to be upstream of the Red Pass community near the graveyard. It does look like smoke on the mountain at the upper starboard wingtip.
