Gillis and Barnhardt Wedding Photo

A Canadian soldier with sweetheart, possibly in Cranbrook, possible a member of the Wheaton family. Louise Crowe-Swords replied - The photo is my mother's wedding photo taken approximately 1942(?). Groom is Flying Officer MLM (Larry) Gillis of Cranbrook. Later died during WW II and was buried at Kinead, Ireland, with the title Flt. Lt. MLM Gillis. Bride is Phyllis Mary Barnhardt of Yahk, B.C., who would in later years, with a second marriage, becvome Phyllis Crowe-Swords (Mrs. E.A. [Ted] Crowe-Swords). She became a Crabrook resident in the late 1950s, moving to Penticton for retirement in 1986.
