Verigin Farewell

Farewell for Peter "Lordly" Verigin at Brilliant in 1924. Peter Verigin was killed in a train explosion at Farron, B.C. He was eventually laid to rest in a tomb above Brilliant, lookig out on the joining of the Kootenay and Columbia rivers and the incredibly fertile community that he had helped to foster at Brilliant (and at other sites in West Kootenay).

There were almost always two arches, one on either end of the l;ong side of the "u", providing access to the inner courtyard of the village.
