FROM WATERLOO. -  Our Correspondent Sends an Interesting Letter to us This Week.

            WATERLOO LANDING, Sept. 10. –

Waterloo has a boom.  The town is platted and laid out in lots in spite of the Lillooet and Fraser River Co.  Waterloo has a fine river front of four miles, with good paying mines in close proximity to her and a small pay roll.

Mayor Robbins is doing good development work on his mines.

Thompson, Thorburn and Maclin are striking it rich on the Lily and Reindeer.

Duncan McDonald opened a new lead on the Ontario and brought some fine rock to town a few days ago.

A contract will be let for a hundred foot tunnel on the Columbia River claim.

There will be a meeting of the citizens of Waterloo to organize a Board of Trade Monday next.

We will soon have a trail from this point to the Salmon River district.

Contractor Tom Parker is at present building a good wagon road from the Landing to the town.  He has quite a force of men, paying $2.50 per day.

The townsite company will soon commence grading the streets and removing the stumps therefrom.

Sid Roach, local manager of the Vernon & Nelson Telephone Co., is removing the telephone office into the new post office block.  Sid bought a lot in our town, and also owns mines joining the Apache.  He will be a great mining king very soon.

J.K. Hunicks has opened a grocery store on Columbia Avenue and Robbins street.

E.V. Allen, proprietor of the Golden Rule Hotel, Pendleton, Oregon, left for home yesterday.  He was greatly impressed with our town and hopes to return soon.

Alec McKenzie, mining expert, Pendleton, Oregon, left on Tuesday’s boat.

Mrs. Armstrong, proprietor of the Victoria Hotel, Rossland, arrived on Tuesday’s boat and invested in a couple of lots, and also inspected some of the mines with the intention of speculating in mining property.

                                                                                                            WATERLOO GROWLER.
