MARYSVILLE READY FOR FOOT BALL.
A meeting of the Marysville foot ball club was held on Monday evening in Norman Hill’s store. A large crowd assembled at 8 o’clock and the principal business was to organize. N.C. McKinstry was elected to the chair and Dr. O’Hagan Secretary for the present meeting. The first business transacted was to elect officers. The following officers were elected:
Patron, G.W. Hull.
President, M.A. McKenzie.
Sec.-Treas., F.W. Mitchell.
Executive Committee, N.C. McKinstry, F.E. Haines, A. Bales, S. Liddicotte.
Captain, Norman Hill.
It was decided that the membership fee be $1.00.
It was also decided to hold a meeting every Monday evening after practice.
There is no doubt that Marysville can get a good team and there is no reason why the town should not support a team. All of our players are strange to each other yet, but nevertheless they are commencing to play the game. All the boys need is lots of practice. arrangements are being made so as to have a match with Cranbrook or some other town on the 24th of May.
