RAILROAD CONSTRUCTION.
The contractors outfits have been arriving during the past week and have been unloaded at the city wharves. About one hundred laboring men were brought in by the Steamer Nelson yesterday morning. This addition to those previously employed will increase the force to about 250 men – all that can be utilized until more implements arrive. About 60 horses have been shipped in.
The location line has been made as far as Sprouls; beyond there only trial lines have been run, but two crews of surveyors are now locating.
Within another week each of the nine contractors will have his camp established and dirt moving.
