LIBRARY APPROVES ADVERTISING CARDS. –
A new card, designed by Alec Steele, was shown and approved by the directors of the Cranbrook Library Association at their regular meeting this week in the library rooms over the post office. The cards, slightly larger than postcards, will be mailed to prospective members of the library throughout the city.
They outline the library hours, the fees for a full year’s membership, and for part of a year, and ask the prospect to call at the library during library hours to examine the books which will be made available through membership.
Twenty-five new books, ordered in September and October, have come in and have been added to the shelves, while twenty-five more volumes ordered at the same time have not yet come in.
The financial report showed that, after paying of accounts totaling $88.71, a balance of $43.64 together with fees totaling $20 taken in during the past month leave a favorable balance of over $63.
A committee of A. Steele and Martin Harris was appointed to investigate the matter of new shelf accommodation at the library rooms.
Chairman of the meeting was Alan Graham, president of the board of directors.
