With the completion of the Sam Yick block on Van Horne street, which is to be known as the Western Café and rooms, the new addition to the Canadian Café and the new building known as the Depot Rooms. The appearance of that portion of the city facing the railway is very much improved. All these have been put up by Chinese or Japanese capital. These buildings were made possible on account of the block being in the second class fire construction limits.
