HOLD SEVICE FOR THE LATE MISS MACLEOD. – Citizens Pay Last Respects Here Sunday. – Remains Shipped to Vancouver Monday. – Will Be Interred in Family Plot.

Citizens of every walk of life in Cranbrook assembled at the Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon last to pay their last respects to the late Margaret MacLeod, whose death has cause a sad and irreparable loss to Cranbrook and East Kootenay, where she labored for the past thirty years.  The church was filled when the pastor, Rev. Bryce Wallace, conducted a most impressive funeral service.  The full choir of the church was in attendance, rendering three favorite hymns of the deceased.  A wealth of floral offerings, testifying to the esteem in which deceased was held, banked the bier.

The pall bearers were W.H. Wilson, Colin Campbell, A.C. Bowness, James Martin, A.A. MacKinnon and W.F. Cameron.  Among the mourners were Donald Dewar of Kimberley, an old friend who knew Miss MacLeod at her birthplace, Vanleek Hill, Ontario; Colin Campbell from the same place; and Howard Moulleur, of St. Johns Iberville, a town not far from Vanleek Hill.

The remains went forward to Vancouver Monday, where they were laid in the family plot, beside the father and mother of deceased.  Dr. and Mrs. Rutledge, brother-in-law and sister of deceased, accompanied the body.  Other members of the family were expected to be in attendance at the funeral.
