Hatchery A Success

HATCHERY NOTES. –

                For upwards of a week, the local trout hatchery man has been as busy as the proverbial bird dog.  Eyed eggs are now deposited in Monroe Lake, or rather, in the streams leading into that sheet of water, and also in Hospital creek and the small streams flowing into St. Marys Lake.  Recent reports from the hatchery are to the effect that the eggs yet in the hatchery troughs are doing splendidly.  The percentage of loss from infertility or disease has been exceedingly small – a sure proof of the hatchery’s excellent location.
