SOCIAL & PERSONAL
The visit of Inspector of Provincial Police W.R. Dunwoody to Fernie last week was largely in connection with the possibility of the province taking over the policing of the city. Mayor Irvine is reported to have informed him that so far as he was concerned the matter would be placed before the property holders of the city in the form of a referendum before any definite action would be taken. The question will likely be discussed at the next meeting of the Fernie city council.
