Elephant Hunters

            Cranbrook has taken to the spotlight this week.  With the McGregor twins winning the auburn-haired contest at the Elks’ carnival at Vancouver; Miss Margaret McClure, of St. Mary’s Prairie, being awarded champion live stock judge at the Vancouver exhibition and the elephant hunt for escaped animals from the Sells-Floto circus in progress for nearly a week, all other cities in the west are being pushed back.  Cranbrook is receiving publicity which will endure for a long time.

            Requests for news stories are reaching the Courier at the rate of ten to fifteen a day.  Toronto, Winnipeg, Brandon, Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Spokane, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and San Francisco have wired the Courier for special stories.  Courier readers will pardon us for somewhat neglecting the paper this week to cover the situation for metropolitan dailies.  Up to press time, thirty thousand words have gone out.  Cranbrook will be featured in the big city dailies for the next week, or as long as the jungle hunt for the Sells-Floto elephants continues.
