LOCAL NOTES

            Mr. Charles A. Howard, formerly proprietor of the Tourist Hotel at Bull River, has purchased the Herald Building in this city from Mrs. Helen McCarthy.  The sale included complete furnishings of the thirteen rooms which were fitted up by Mrs. McCarthy about two years ago when she purchased the property.  Mr. and Mrs. Howard will take up their residence in a portion of the upstairs and will rent the remaining rooms to tourists and transients, for which they are very suitable, considering the very central location of the building.  The ground floor portion of the building will continue to be tenanted by the Cranbrook Herald and Martin Bros.
