Lacrosse Cup Display

LOCAL NOTES

            On display in the window of the A. Earle Leigh jewelry store this week is the district lacrosse cup, donated by Assembly No. 22, Native Sons of Canada.  The cup is in the form of a handsome silver bowl of loving cup design, and is supported by 15 individual sterling silver medals.  The trophy will be placed in competition this season, and should furnish an incentive to the formation of lacrosse teams in Kimberley, Lumberton, Wycliffe, Wardner and Yahk.  It is entirely to the credit of the Native Sons that they are taking a substantial interest in Canada’s national game.  That interest in lacrosse is being revived is obvious; therefore it is to expect that the Cranbrook lacrosse team will be called upon to show their paces before the summer is over.  Here’s hoping.
