Fernie Overview

A look at the back side of the business district, with Mount Fernie and the Three Sisters in the background. The text on the back of the postcard is interesting: "This is where I am working now. Fernie is 3,000 ft. above the sea. The town was burnt down last fall & the bank is a small wood shanty in which we sleep, with the safe between the beds & our guns under our pillow. I stand at the counter with all the large blls in my pocket & the $5.00, 2.00 & 1.00 on the plank & my silver in tobacco tins. A flannel shirt, a pair of trousers & a belt with a gun poked in my hip pocket & my pipe in my mouth. Quite a good way to do banking."
