Canoe River Cable Crossing

Jim Drummond pulling himself across the Canoe River by a cable to reach a boat on the other side. There was a small seat hanging below the cable. This was at Mile 18, which was the access point to get to the Hot Springs across the Canoe on the west side.

Crossing the Canoe River

Jim Drummond had to cross the Canoe River by a cable to reach this boat on the other side. Jim bringing the boat back to the east shore of the Canoe River. The boat is attached to the cable, thus acting as a reaction ferry does.

This timber was killed from being flooded for a considerable time a few years ago (1950's) when a large jam completely blocked the Canoe River and pushed the water upstream some 7 or 8 miles.
