Ernest Hoy in Golden, B.C.

Ernest Hoy in Golden, B.C. on his return flight from Calgary, Alberta to Vancouver, B.C. He left Calgary on the morning of August 11th 1919 but only made it as far as Golden. In Golden two boys ran on the field he was taking off from and he had to bank causing the plane to damaged. The plane could not be repaired there and had to be shipped by train back to Vancouver. Captain Ernest Charles Hoy DFC (6 May 1895 ?22 April 1982) was a Canadian First World War flying ace, officially credited with 13 victories. He later pioneered airmail flight over the Canadian Rockies

Two RAF Avro Vulcans at the Vancouver Airport Air Show June 1958 The Avro Vulcan(officially Hawker Siddeley Vulcan from July 1963)is a jet-powered delta wing strategic bomber, which was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1956 until 1984. Aircraft manufacturer A.V. Roe and Company (Avro) designed the Vulcan in response to Specification B.35/46. Of the three V bombers produced, the Vulcan was considered the most technically advanced and hence the riskiest option.
