East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC Psychiatric Unit Grant c.1981

Local MLA Terry Segarty stand between Cranbrook Hospital Board member Joe Pagarut and Health Minister Jim Nielsen as they look over a series of government announcements. The board members were told that approval in principle had been given to the development of a 15 bed psychiatric unit for the hospital. Neilsen also approved interim funding in the amount of $300,000 for the intermediate care unit which is currently under construction. The 60 bed intermediate care unit and the psychiatric unit will relieve some strain on the hospitals acute bed space.
