This photo is taken in front of the Willicome home on Rocky Mountain Avenue in Fort Steele. In 2010 the house was still standing inside Fort Steele Heritage Town, but in a severely compromised condition. Lewis Floyd Willicome was born February 6, 1862 at Chepstow, Monmouth, England and died August 22, 1942 at Cranbrook, B.C. He married Fanny Lyle on December 25, 1887 at Cardiff, Wales. Fanny (Lyle) Willicome was born March 21, 1867 at Barnstaple, Devon, England. She passed away October 12, 1950 in Cranbrook, B.C. Lewis and Fanny came to Canada from Cardiff, Wales, in June 1912. They crossed from Liverpool to Montreal on the ship Tunisian, a member of the Allen Line. They immigrated with two children, Emily Annie WIllicome (age 22) and son Lewis Arthur Willicome (age 12). Lewis Arthur Willicome was born October 17, 1899 at Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales and died September 14, 1974 at Kimberley, B.C. Winnifred Irene Phillips was born August 22, 1903 at Cayo Farm, Longtown, Hereford, England and died on January 28, 1937 at Cranbrook, B.C. She married Lewis Arthur Willicome on September 16, 1924 in Cranbrook.

Lewis Owen and wife Rose Nellie 'Davies' Owen. Lewis was born in 1885 at Langwith, Nottingham, England. He came to Canada in 1905 and started with the CPR at Calgary, Alberta. He came to Cranbrook as a fireman in 1916 and retired in 1950 as a CPR engineer. Lewis Owen died May 4, 1956 in Cranbrook, with a brother Walter Owen surviving him in England. Nellie Rose Davies was born June 21, 1893, at Llanvihangel, Crucorney, Wales and married Lewis Owen in Cranbrook on March 15, 1926. Nellie was the half sister of Winnifred Irene (Phillips) Willicome, and worked at the Cranbrook Post Office until she married Owen. Nellie Owen died in Cranbrook on May 31, 1956.

Frederick George Lyle
Frederick George Lyle, born at Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales in 1885, the son of William Bray Lyle Jr.son of William Lyle, and Elizabeth. He married Louisa Sweet about 1910 and was the father of Cyril and Robert Lyle. In 1922 the family came to Canada aboard the Cunard Line SS Antonia, leaving from Southhampton and landing at Quebec City, then across to Fort Steele, B.C. Fred lyle was a nephew of Fanny (Lyle) Willicome, and came to Fort Steele to work with his uncle Albert J. Grez and aunt Jane (Lyle) Grez at the JA Ranch. Later he worked in Kimberley with the C.M. & S. Co. Fred may have remarried on September 29, 1938, to Bernice Anderson.
