'Old Cranbrook - 1905' - J.D. McBride House

This is one of the pen and ink sketches of "Old Cranbrook" done by local artist Garry Anderson. They are basically "Architectural Delineations" no landscaping or shadowing to detract from the wealth of detail and charm of some of the older buildings. Having received his degree in architecture from the University of B.C. in 1972, Mr. Anderson is convinced that we must learn to appreciate and preserve some of the outstanding landmarks in our cities for they give each a "unique identity" of its own.

C.P.R. House on Cobham Avenue, Cranbrook

C.P.R. car foreman's house on Cobham Avenue, Cranbrook, B.C., 1977. This was the car foreman's residence and the Johnson family was the last to live there, departing for Lethbridge in 1985. To the left and approximately 50 feet behind the trees is the locomotive foreman's home, last occupied by the Bill McCormack family. These houses were provided by the CPR so that supervisors could be available in case of emergencies such as train wrecks.
