Description:
L.B. Van Decar constructed and owned the Royal Hotel from 1897 to 1907, when he sold it to his son Frank. After several owners the building was taken over by the Great War Veterans Association )GWVA) until 1926 when George Taylor refurbished the building and opened it as the Byng.
