Moyie Train Wreck

Train wreck, Moyie, B.C. 1925 - Photo shows a mangled locomotive on the flatcar of a work train, eventually going to Montreal CPR shops for repairs. The wreck occurred November 20, 1925. The train encountered a rock slide at the entrance to the Moyie tunnel (Jerome tunnel) and the engine derailed and went into the lake. The fireman killed in the wreck was Robert Ely. He was found trapped under the locomotive, while everyone else managed to jump clear.
