Hemlock on Mosquito Creek.

Twenty-eight inch Hemlock with from 4 to 6 inches of sound wood around the perimeter. This tree was left standing by the fallers on Mosquito Creek.

Hemlock Trees in Whatshan Lake Area

A logged over area with Hemlock trees averaging 22"DBH. There is undoubtedly a certain percentage of cull wood, such old wood should be removed at a early date. They are becoming decadent due to overmaturity.

Beaton Wharf and Boat

Beaton Wharf and the boat used between Arrowhead and Beaton. This is operated by a small local company and not by the CPR. Pulpwood from the Trout Lake area would be hauled to Upper Arrow Lake at this point, for towing to the plant.
