            The brickyard near the brewery is doing a good business, and could sell brick faster than it can make them.

            High Madden and James Anderson, two prominent citizens of Mineral City, were visitors to Trail this week.

            Thos. Corsan came down on the Nakusp yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. Corsan and baby, who will live in Trail for a short time.

            The “White Front” store on Victoria street, owned by Alex Munn and occupied by O.F. Orr & Co., will be for rent after June 18.

            Edwin Anderson, formerly of Sullivan, Illinois, has established himself in business in Trail, in connection with Contractor Smith.

            W.P. Mitchell, of Vancouver, representing the North American Life Assurance Company, was in Trail this week looking after business.

            Heard & Wescott will next week open a store on the bridge with a complete stock of tailoring and gent’s furnishings.  There’s no sense in sending away for clothes when you can get them at home just as reasonable, with fit and workmanship guaranteed.  Before ordering your suit call on Heard & Wescott.

            E.L. Hendee, of Portland, Oregon, a brother of Purser Hendee, of the Nakusp, has opened a photograph gallery in the rear of the McPhee lot and will take pictures for the good people of Trail.

            J.W. Divilbliss, proprietor of the Montessano Vidette, has gone to Rossland, B.C., to establish a daily paper.  C.H. Lamb and J.E. McDougall have also gone to assist him – B.C. Commercial Journal.

            Mr. Hewitt Bostock has entered an action against Mr. R.M. Horne-Payne for $10,000 for alleged slanderous statements made by Mr. Payne at Golden, B.C., regarding Mr. Bostock. – Victoria Province.

            C.L. Mills was up from Waneta this week.  He has severed his connection with the S.F. & N. and has accepted a position as book-keeper with the International Gold and Silver Mining Co., at Boundary, Wash.

            O.F. Orr & Co. have purchased the stock of furniture from Campbell Bros. and have moved their stock into the building occupied by the Campbell stock on Cedar avenue.  Mr. Campbell has returned to Rossland.

            The California Bakery and Coffee house is open, Honold & Fluhrer, proprietors.  Mr. Fluhrer is a baker of large experience.  His windows are filled with cakes and bread, browned to a turn, and the showcases are filled with choice confectionery.  Both are experts in their line, good business men, and the public will get not only good treatment from them but excellent goods.
