THE LOCAL GRIST.

            M. Levy and Mose Holland have formed a partnership under the firm name of levy & Co., and opened a general commission store on A avenue.

            John L. Retallack, W.E. Mann and T.G. Proctor have returned from a shooting trip up the Kootenay.  Forty or fifty local duck and several hundred snipe fell.

            Green Bros. are clearing off lots at Cody, upon which they will bui8ld at once a store building to be occupied by themselves, with a large general stock, a branch of their Kaslo concern.

            Engineer Cummings has sent out about 100 calls for bids on the new water system, and it will only be a few days until tenders will arrive.  The time limit expires on Sept. 26th.  Immediately after the opening of the bids work on the trenches will begin, and no time will be lost.  Local contractors are now figuring on the reservoir.
