THE CITY COUNCIL. – Passed Some Bills, Also the Water By-Law.

            At the council meeting Wednesday evening Moore and Murchison were absent.  The following accounts were presented: John F. Nelson, $40; B.C. Gazette, $3; John Houston & Co., $6; C.P.R. Telegraph Co., $2.57; M.V. Adams, $85.50.

            E. Cummings made application for the office of city engineer, and M. Bucke withdrew his application for the same position.  James Smith applied for the position of pipe fitter and plumber.  The chairman of the Kaslo school board asked for $35 for school purposes.

            The finance committee reported favorably on the above bills, together with bills of $39.75, Cameron Bros., and $343.75, F.E. Archer.

            The loan by-law was then taken up and formally passed.
