ALL READY FOR MIDWAY AND SWIM POOL OPENING

Tonight’s the night.  With Old Sol smiling for two days, the swimming pool full to the brink and booths erected for business, all is in readiness for the midway and regatta which will mark the official opening of the big 125 by 250 foot tank at 7:30 this evening.

That the opening will be a red letter event goes without saying.  The pool is a credit to the Gyro Club and to City Superintendent Philpot who designed the tank and superintended its construction.  It is, according to visitors from centres much larger than Cranbrook, one  of the best out-door pools in western Canada.  As a city asset and a decided inducement to tourists to make stop-overs here, its advertising value cannot be overestimated.

The Gyros have built a monument for themselves in financing construction of the swimming pool.
