HEAVY PENALTY FOR ILLEGAL FISHING. –

            Charged with fishing in waters set apart for propagation of trout, Steve Romanuik in provincial police court yesterday was fined $50 with an option of six months in jail by Police Magistrate John Leask.  The case was conducted by James Sanderson, fisheries guardian, who gave evidence against the accused.  Mr. Sanderson stated that he found Romanuik fishing at the hatchery trap on Peavine Creek on Sunday last.  He deposed further that Romanuik had posted a boy to give the alarm in event of the approach of some one in authority.
