CRANBROOK ROTARY

The Rotary Hallowe’en party Tuesday evening, with which was incorporated Ladies’ Night, proved a genuine surprise to many and a pleasure to all.  The evening opened with the serving of a topsy-turvy luncheon, that is, dessert was served first and so on down the menu.

The back to school days costume was worn, the men wearing short pants and jumpers, while the ladies came in short dresses with their hair neatly arrayed as in days of long ago.  Everyone caught the idea instantly and for two hours an uproar reigned with the children.

The programme committee had a busy time preparing the stunts for this special occasion, among those pulled were the Lemon and Rose Stunt, the honors of which fell to Charlie Little and Rotary-Anne Wilson; the photographic stunt, worked by Fred Scott, official photographer, taking a flashlight group of the ladies, caused a round of laughter.  Bobbing apples and the serving of “Rotary Chocolates,” which were enjoyed by everyone present concluded the evening’s program, which concluded shortly before 10 o’clock in order to give the members a chance to take in the Rebekah Hallowe’en dance at the Auditorium.
