CRANBROOK ROTARY

Bert Jones made his debut on the Rotary speaking platform Tuesday at the club room, when he delivered a vocational talk to a 100 per cent meeting of Cranbrook Rotarians, who listened to one of the best addresses delivered before the club.  It came as a surprise, because Bert has never laid claim to being a public speaker and was not over-enthusiastic until he found his speaking legs.  His talk dealt with the several aspects of the building situation as it affects this district, being a reply to the address of George Robson, of Lumberton, who started a discussion on building costs.  Bert’s address was the second episode and a third one will follow.

Jimmy Austin, of the Seattle Rotary club, classification publisher, was a guest of the club.  Rev. W.K. Thompson, a former Cranbrook pastor, was also an invited guest.  Both briefly addressed the club, expressing their appreciation of the work being accomplished by Rotary the world over.

The club will meet regularly in the Y.M.C.A. dining room in future, where the weekly luncheon and stunts can be worked together.  Mrs. McNeil is looking after catering.
