G.W.V.A NOTES

The G.W.V.A. wish to express its sincerest thanks to the patronesses of the masquerade dance held on the 17th, for the energetic manner in which they worked in order that the affair might be the success which it was.  We quite appreciate their difficulty in carrying out the arrangements, while the local flu epidemic was at its height, and the Association is proud to be able to have had the co-operation of such a committee in the undertaking.  Thanks are also due the various members who assisted in putting the dance on.

********

A public meeting will be held on Friday the 31st inst., at 8 p.m., in the G.W.V.A. Club rooms , for the purpose of organizing for the 24th of May celebration.  It is hoped that as many as possible will be on hand to assist with the holding of this local annual field day.  The backing of the whole community is necessary to make this day a repetition of the successes which have been attendant on the committees in charge of previous celebrations, and we look forward to the co-operation of the public in this undertaking.

********

Buck Taylor, late Sergeant-Major of the 29th Battalion, was in the city this week, and in remarking on the cheerful appearance of the Association building stated that the local Club had it on every Association this side of Vancouver, in the matter of premises and accommodation and the never failing esprit de corps.
