FUNERAL OF THOMAS POWERS

The remains of Thomas Powers, the fireman, who drowned at Kootenay Landing two weeks ago, were recovered last Monday and brought to Cranbrook Tuesday for burial.  Undertaker Campbell went to the landing after the body.  Services were held in the English church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Beacham officiating.  The services were in charge of the employees of the locomotive department, who contributed to the expense, as the deceased was not a member of the fireman’s association.  Ernie Brown was the head of the committee that took the matter in charge.
