ROTARY CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS – Getting Behind Movement for Public Park and Swimming Pool

Members of Rotary turned out nearly one hundred per cent strong Tuesday, when the annual election of directors was on the order paper.  In view of the short time the present directors have held office and their very excellent work accomplished to date, the meeting unanimously returned the old board.  They are J.P. Fink, Alan Graham, G.F. Marsh, Ed. McKay, F.M. MacPherson, George Robson, J.F. Scott and W.H. Wilson.

“Dad” Worden and Ed. McKay led the singing accompanied by Ted Cooper on the saxophone.

E.H. McPhee gave a ten-minute talk on community work which was snappy throughout and thoroughly appreciated by the members.  He pointed out that Rotary was to assist in worthy community objects.  Some individuals entertain the opinion that to “put something over” all that was necessary was to secure the endorsation of Rotary and away she goes.  That was an erroneous impression.

Alan DeWolf presented a rough sketch of the proposed swimming pool which the club was undertaking to install within the city limits.  All details as yet are still in the making and will be shortly announced.
