WELL-KNOWN RESIDENT – G. Constable Dies At 91

One of the early residents of the Creston Valley, and a founder of the local board of trade, Guy Constable has died at the age of 91.

Mr. Constable, an authority on dikes and reclamation, came into the valley in 1904 to manage the old Alice Mine, in which his family had a financial interest.

Later he turned to insurance and ran a real estate business.  Last year he was presented with a plaque certifying he had been a notary public for 60 years, making him the oldest in B.C.

He was a past president of the board of trade and the Associated Boards of Trade for South-Eastern B.C., as well as being a former director of the B.C. Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by three sons and nine grandchildren.
