0052.0177: Cosmopolitan Hotel

Cosmopolitan owner has been notified that his application for license in Canal Flats has been granted.

Baseball has become all the rage in Cranbrook and the teams are thicker than the bananas in “Old Man” Simpson’s grove and there has been an interesting game every evening for the past week.  At the present time honors are about even between the bankers, the Cosmopolitan and the “Knocker” clubs, but the end is not yet, as there are new clubs appearing on the scene every day.  There is material in town for the organizing of a number of good teams and there is talk of organizing a city league.  This would be a good scheme and would furnish no end of entertainment evenings, as is evidenced by the large crowds who have been attending the game.
