LIBRARY LIST SLIGHTLY DOWN. –

A balance of about $80.00 was reported by the treasurer at the regular May meeting of the board of directors for the Cranbrook Library Association.  Current accounts, ordered paid, amounted to $31.47.

The librarian’s report showed that the membership was down a little due to seasonal conditions.  The drop is accounted for by the number of men subscribers who come in to Cranbrook for the winter and cancel their subscriptions while they are out of town working in the summer.  These subscribers account for a large proportion of the thousand visitors who come to the library to spend several hours reading on its Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings.

Fines on books from the limited time shelf, where the new books are placed when they first come in are being strictly enforced.  The librarian reports that they are being paid cheerfully.

Alan Graham, president of the board was chairman of the meeting.
