ADDITIONAL DISTRICT NEWS – WARDNER (From our own correspondent)

            Mr. and Mrs. Tony Thompson motored to Waldo on Tuesday evening.

            The dance in the Club hall on Friday evening, given by the Melody Makers of Cranbrook, turned out to be quite a disappointment to many.  In the first place, a great many of the usual crowd who take in the Wardner dances are on vacation, while others, who attended the Cranbrook fair dances on Monday and Tuesday of this week, were not inclined to go to a third dance in the same week.  Wardner, however, was not the only place with a poor dance attendance.  A few of the dancers from town and Bull River motored to Elko, but found only a few people dancing there, so returned to the dance here.

            Mr. Tony Thompson returned to Wardner on Thursday after spending a couple of days in Fernie on business.

            Frank Thompson’s Studebaker is undergoing repairs at the Hanson garage, Cranbrook, so Frank is using his feet as a means of promotion or trying out the back seat for a change.  He also says that if a car isn’t continually trapping one’s pennies for gas and oil it will be doing it for repairs.

            Miss Francis Chelmick, of St. Eugene hospital staff, and Pete Franzen, of Wycliffe, motored to Wardner on Tuesday.  On the return trip to Wycliffe, they were accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Holden, who journeyed there to take charge of a child patient.

            Miss Millie Barnes and Al Kievill, accompanied by Miss Millie Rauter and Johnny Gibson, of Fernie, motored up the Narrow Gauge to Iron Creek on Sunday on a fishing trip, all reporting of eating more fish at once than they would otherwise eat for a month.  Is this another fish story?
