Aurora Mine

AURORA WILL SHIP ORE IN NEAR FUTURE – Mine Will be Worked by Local Syndicate on Lease and Bond – Government is Building Road.

            Within the next few weeks the Aurora mine on Moyie Lake will be shipping ore, according to interested parties.  It is authentically stated that negotiations for the taking over of the mine from the original holding company have culminated in a local syndicate being given control of the property on a lease and bond, the understanding being that the ore bodies be worked and ore on the dump shipped to market.  Fifteen men have already been sent to work the property on the strength of a promise made by the government that a road will be built from the south end of Moyie Lake to the mine, a distance of about two and one half miles.  As there is known to be a considerable tonnage of zinc-silver-lead ore on the Aurora dump and more blocked out the mine is likely to remain on the shipping list.
